Mountains of Debt
As a college student I sometimes end up having a cram session before a huge exam or final. Most of the time, I carefully plan out and study for my exams. It is for this reason I have decent grades, and have applied and was accepted to dental school. Dental school is a huge expense, so I intended to apply for scholarships. One of the scholarships that my university offered was for a local student with a good grades. This scholarship was also for a substantial amount of money, so I really wanted to receive it. The scholarship was perfect for me, a local student and I would have definitely received it! However, due to my overconfidence and laziness, I kept pushing the day that I would check and the fill out the scholarship. Finally, as a second semester senior I checked the scholarship due date. It was the middle of junior year! I was a year off, and not only could I not apply for that scholarship, I could not apply for any scholarships at my university! I have a future of mountain loads of debt in front of me just because I was lazy. If only I had been proactive and not procrastinated!
